Buckshot Factory

I finally went in to this place over by the main Goodwill store near Westmoreland and Singleton. I've put it off because I didn't know what it was and it looked pretty boring. Looks can be deceiving, though and this turned out to be a pretty cool site after all. Not the best but well worth checking out.Looking at what's there, I think they made buckshot and/ or buckshot bags.$$$UEDBCODE-N@@@120853@@@$$$
There's a shortage of safe parking in the neighborhood so I packed light and rode my bike, since it's only a little over 3 miles from home. Lots of hills, though. I made easy entry through one of the broken windows in front in broad daylight on a Tuesday morning at 10 AM.$$$UEDBCODE-N@@@120822@@@$$$ There's no security and none of the passing drivers took any notice. The first rooms are offices and such and the air conditioning ducts and drop ceiling are all falling down. It rained today and the flat roof leaks a lot so there was dripping water everywhere. I was surprised when I came to the main room, which is pretty big and has lots of entact machinery. This was a preliminary entry so I took some photos and, when my card was full, poked around a bit and headed out. Unfortunately, I had my camera set for max res and didn't think about changing it to be able to get more pics until I was halfway home. (DOH!)
Definitely worth a trip and more time to explore it all. Lots of interesting stuff but also lots of decontamination signs and gear. Made me think that shorts and a flashlight may not be enough.I really liked this communal wash basin$$$UEDBCODE-N@@@120829@@@$$$and, if I weren't an honest man, I could sure use this compressor.$$$UEDBCODE-N@@@120848@@@$$$As usual, all I left were footprints. I'll have to check next time but there were full and empty bottles of what looked like acid or some other chemicals.$$$UEDBCODE-N@@@120844@@@$$$ but I didn't want to play with them in just shorts and tennis shoes. There's a mezanine area$$$UEDBCODE-N@@@120855@@@$$$ with a ladder to the roof I still need to check out too.
So much to do...so little time...
