I have not much to contribute here. I have climbed a ladder and poked my head up through a ceiling access port - into the antenna shroud section. Up there were people who mean business so I quickly retreated. Remember that CN police are real police. And that was before 9-11.

I have always wanted to get into the hollow core. I understand that there is a laser which shines the entire height from bottom to top - to measure the tower's deflection during high winds. It was said that it only sways 6" in 80 MPH winds which is amazingly little considering it's basically a giant toothpick.

By-the-way, the tower's height is 1815 feet, 5-1/4" (that number is burned in my brain). In March 1975 when the radio antenna was placed on top by a Sikorsky helicopter called "Olga" - making it a household name, I was parked near a y-intersection of a small sideroad. My car is actually visible in a National Geographic magazine picture - view from the helicopter. But all I am is a little yellow dot. A 1971 Volkswagen beetle. LOL.
