My 1st visit was during the winter of this year. That's the best time to go. The whole base is grossly overgrown so hacking your way through is easiest in non-growing seasons. I didn't take my camera (Curses!) but drove over just to check the place out. I ended up spending a couple hours there and walked through everything. It's a fun time, but nothing out of this world. Too bad it has been hit so hard by vandals. I plan to check it out again in late winter with my SLR.
