The Waterfall Billboard

Since 1962, thousands of motorists each day drive past the historic Waterfall Billboard.

As a child, I once met the artist who designed it. Ben Carlton Mead was better known for his western art. Mr. Mead illustrated a couple of books by J. Frank Dobie. That impressed the adults but, as a kid, I was much more impressed by the waterfall; it is just cool!

The billboard was given a major facelift in 2009. It remains in the same spot on Goat Hill where it has been since it was constructed. It is just off the Katy Trail.
