The Icebox
On the day we went to take these photos, it was a few degrees warmer than on our first visit and the chamber had thawed. Thus, there was no ice behind the dam, just a big old swimming pool. When we turned off all our lights and shone my blue LED light across the surface at a certain angle, the chamber would suddenly light up with gorgeous, soft blue light reflecting off the concrete walls in soft rippling patterns. It was one of the most awe-inspiring things I've ever seen, and of course all attempts to capture it with a digital camera were futile.
