So we went into one, obviously. It turns out that each pipe connects to an extravagant gross pollutant trap. Here, I'm inside one trap, peering into the deep pool underneath it, trying my best not to fall into the oil-lined muck. Later, we had a chance to explore the outside of these traps as well, from above, which taught us a great deal about their functioning and also led to our first-ever police confrontation! Yay! :D
