Do NOT enter
drains. Read this warning!
Batcave Extension Rating:
This is the extension of Batcave drain. It is much larger and more interesting. The drain is a maze of passageways, many of which meet up at both ends of the tunnel.
Map
of drain system with points of interest marked
Note: The map is not accurate and is drawn from estimates
of where features are in relation to above ground.
Photo of the drain entrance taken at night the day before exploring the drain. The left side tunnels are dry until the big chamber just in the entrance.
Graffiti in the entrance tunnels.
Looking back at the entrance of the drain from a huge junction chamber. It was too big to photograph well.
The main passageway and a side tunnel.
Up the main tunnel the ceiling suddenly gets lower
Vent in the main tunnel
The main tunnel. Note the dry floor.
Coming to the huge main chamber
A channel across the main passage
The view across the drain, it is wide.
Some, ahh, local graffiti at the end of the drain visible at the right.
This picture does not adequately convey the size of the drain. It was so huge. The picture was taken first thing in the morning so not much light was shining down the drain.
Getting closer to that big entrance
Above and below, more detail of the drain entrance.
Pillars in the main chamber.
Channel, pillars and darkness
Approaching the two other large downstream tunnels of the main chamber
Close up of above image
These two tunnels carry a canal like drain that carries the most water out of the main chamber
They meet at this chamber where three large pipes continue on and a smaller pipe carries water across to the main chamber
These three pipes have strange wave like debris on them. Looks like this drain has flooded at least once. They lead back to the first entrance channel.
Do NOT enter drains. Read this warning!
