Drain entrance.

The showgrounds drain is not all that large but has some very interesting potential.

The first time we went to check out this drain we spend a about an hour trying to get into a smaller drain a bit down the road. We spotted a grille beside the road near the petrol station and contemplated that, thinking it contained a too small drain. We were right.

The actual drain was picked up from within the show grounds which was undergoing preparation for Summer-Nats. We drove the Drain-Mobile � into the show grounds, looking around for the drain. We could not even pick out the quarter horse track. We finally realised that the huge stands and drag strip for Summer Nats was set up right on the track. We drove to the end and there was the drain.

Grille

We were surprised at the size of the grille, which we had in fact driven along the top of without realising what it was. We climbed on in, picked the biggest drain and walked through. We came out on the other side of the main road. The big grilled drain entrance was easy to exit, a wide gap on one side. The entrance was right under the power lines. We were surprised at the size of the drain, considering that it ended in a relatively shallow above ground drain.

All in all this is a small drain, easy to explore. The downstream section which runs under the quarter horse track is pretty shit. Low, stoopy and plainly uninteresting. The drain had some interesting possibilities attached to it. We understand that in UA City Center there is a similar drain used to enter their Grand Prix.

We do not recommend that you explore drains, nor do we recommend you use this drain as a free entry to events in the park. Security guards are not idiots. You�re sure to stick out like a sort thumb after exiting the drain.
