We Sick Puppys Drain in our opinion is well named. What sort of a sick bastard makes a drain that ends in a deep basin of muck thats almost impossible to get into without getting wet?
Kayacking our way into the drain
This drain had a great location discription "North of Greenway estate". Um, that could be about nine tenths of Urbana. Anyway, we found the place as a friend who works down in the Tuggeranong Hyperdome spotted it for us. This drain was visited by bus, the driver ended up dropping us off in the middle of nowhere. We walked down to the lake, found the drain then contemplated going in.
" Its wet, Ive got my good shoes on."
" Why do you have your good shoes on? Were going into a drain."
" My draining shoes smelled too bad so I left them under a display in Grace Brothers."
We wandered in, amazingly keeping dry, even though we had to do the splits to do so. This drain is repetitive. Come to chamber, look at chamber, walk on. In fact after doing a lot of drains in Urbana we were not at all excited about this one. Specially as we had done some UA City drains just the week before. It was like walk, come to a chamber that looked the same as previous ones.
There was some basic graffiti, mostly regular drain explorers it seemed. With the wet entrance we figured few locals would be into exploring this drain. The entrances did get a little repetitive. We got a bit pissed offed with that. We did get to the grille chamber, and explored the side pipe, and further on. But we got bored, it was getting dark so we left.
Some one, Im not saying who wanted to know if you could get out of any of the other pipes other than the one we got in by. That someone discovered that it wasnt possible, not without falling in to the sickly scungy pond of dirty water. Lucky they were smart enough to hand their wallet to me before they tried it.
Warning, drains are full of pathogens, germs and microbes. Serious illness may result through exploring drains. Exploring some drains may also be much like watching re-runs of I dream of genie, exciting at first, but quickly becomes boring and dated.
Do NOT enter drains. Read this warning!
