| | | Here are a few shots from a lonely little cemetary in Texas, that's reportedly "haunted". These are by no means high quality, I am far from a photographer, I just do this for fun! Comments, suggestions and critique welcomed, take it easy though I'm very new at this. Enjoy!
Here's a brief history of the place: Cemetary was originally established by William Veal in 1850. Visitors to the cemetery have reported seeing a woman dressed in white who doesn't like uninvited visitors. They also have spoken about the eerie, dark feeling they have gotten from the back left corner of the cemetery, as if they were being watched. Some have even reported of hearing the sound of the brass bell ringing warning of an Indian attack, though no bell remains today. Sad! This was an infant with a creepy crib type thing on top of the grave.
The locks on gate at entrance. There was a fence with an open gate just to the side of this, but this shot was cool.
Creepy ass photos on graves - this was the only one in tact.
Random shot of some graves dating back to the 1800's.
For some reason I kept taking pictures of this one over and over. Odd. [last edit 6/8/2010 6:08 PM by Twisted Orchid - edited 1 times]

| | | I love it when the old headstones have the pictures like that. I've always found it really interesting. I think you did a pretty good job with the photos too! I've always kinda wondered how certain graves get rated a perimeter fence, whereas most of them do not. Maybe they paid more or something.

Maybe they are keeping the evil caged in, even after death? LOL Something to ponder.

| | | Welcome to the forum! You don't have to excuse your photographs at all. It's about the location and the experience, not necessarily the photos. For some of us, photography and exploration go hand in hand, for others they don't. Photography can record the whole experience - the location itself, the feeling inside (or around) the location, the mood induced upon you, the structure, the decay, etc - or it can be used as a tool for internet cred (which isn't always bad) or just to tell a quick story about the place. I enjoy a healthy mix of artsy stuff used in conjunction with content having a more journalistic feel. I personally enjoy reading a history of a given location as I look at the poster's photographs. It brings me closer to the location if I can't be there personally. This is not always possible (as is often the case) due to security and preservation of course. Anyway, keep exploring and keep posting!

| | | I love cemeteries. Looks cool. I don't know where you live, but you should check out Springtown Cemetery sometime(may not be the name of it) it has a "glowing" grave, it's pretty tripped out. Best to have someone drop you off outside the gates and come back for you though, the cops are usually all over that shit due to the nature of it, and all the people that go at night to see it. BTW it has to be night or the grave won't glow.

Right. Unfortunately I didn't see it "glow" but I went during the day.

That's funny, I didn't recognize it during the day, I've only been at night... Def go at night sometime, and check out the glow.
