Can't say I've used a floppy in the last half a decade, but you could research different floppy formats and try to find an app that will let you write to the one you need. Start at

I'm not sure what your technical background is, but you'd probably have an easier time spinning up a virtual machine than using a real one. That's actually what I'm doing now- using vmware to run XP so I can run an old RTS.
Anyway, another option would be to look for online versions.
http://www.google....TF-8&q=online+zork brings up a few options.
Edit: Or play nethack, an altogether superior terminal game.
