Not even at home (Unless you have a long pole)
On this trip I set myself on fire, but I figured out how to make it not happen next time. I was playing with lights so I didn't take many pictures. Nevertheless, this completes the story...
We've been doing experiments with fire for photography lately. One of these is filling balloons with butane and setting them off - done right, it makes a billowing sheet of flame that rises a few feet.
If you decide to do the butane balloon thing, there's something that you should know, and that I should have known. The flame melts the balloon, and then lights the butane. By then it's jetting out the hole in the balloon, so it'll streak towards the flame source. The first time I held the foot-long lighter in my hand. In this picture, It's 5' out on a tripod. You do the math ;)
You might want to have the lighter set up so you can hit the top of the balloon or the other side. I got away with minor burns, but it could have gone a lot worse.
