i know this is car forum, but I felt this was related... At insistence from a friend of mine, i downloaded "Darkness On The Edge Of Town" because there was a song that friend felt relative to my life and believe it or not, it was an album that I didn't have... I could punch him in the face, but after listening to it, doesn't it related to all of us? The song is "Racing In The Street" and closes out the first side of the album.
Here's a live clip of it from 1978:
i think it was recommended to me because here I am approaching middle age I just won't grow up. I still drive stupid kids cars and am not above running someone. I mean, by 38, most people are driving neutral earth tone sedans, have 2.3 kids and are more worried about their 401k's than they are what boost they're running or what what their 60ft times are.

Sorry Sam, I should have given the Boss his Props.
Dude in 1978 I was 18 years old, had a 1968 Road Runner with a 440Mag pushin' 400HP. Was racin' desert bikes with 5 and 6 inches of wheel travel, surfin', doin' drugs, and doin' all my buddies sisters.....
Springsteen, Seeger, Zepplin, FogHat, Skynard, Pink Floyd. Loved'em all and then some.
But BigDave does sing well!!!

Posted by HarvestmanMan What's Mr. Shittyvocalcords doing in the car forum?
Yeah his voice is scratchy, and steelwool isn't snugly at bedtime. Like him or not, he's an American hero, and the song is about cars...
Not always easy listening, but his game is real.

Are you really 16? That's an exiting age! Any plans or ideas about how you want to make a contribution to society?
Okay, pardon my razzing
