| | | Top floor on the left, this was a manual lift to bring stuff up to the top floor. Ground level, right side, this was a "cochère" door (sorry, don't know the word in english). Those doors were actually opening to the back courtyard and enable to get a horse bogey in. Loft of older buildings on the East Coast had those (and lots still do in Montreal). "Cochère" door ("cocher" being the name in french for the person driving the horse bogey) were always aligned on the exterior side wall of the building, the side leaning towards another building as this was the safest point, structurally-speaking. Door on the left of ground level usually opened on stairs to go up and offices on the left. Pipes coming out of the wall in the middle, ground level, I suspect water connector. 2nd floor, middle, Electrical cables to connect to the street electrical poles.
