| | | Second time being here as the first was cut short. Bowling alley is probably the only thing worth seeing. This trip was more or less just for the bowling alley as we noticed there were various lamps turned on throughout the buildings. Very odd, so we made it a quick visit. Really surprised to see at least one lane display was all intact. First time using off-camera flash for exploring...Enjoy!

Basement of a hotel.
When we went years ago in a snow storm, there was nothing turned on inside, but there was power. The bowling alley is the coolest part, but there are some nearly perfect hotel rooms upstairs that just need some cleaning and could be reopened with no issues.

| | | This was probably one of my more interesting hotels that I have explored in that area even though I missed the bowling alley. Every time I see a killer set of it I kick myself. The last time I was there was in early 2011. Unfortunately when we went by a red truck was parked in front and there were tracks in the snow from the truck to the entrance. I haven't been back or heard much about the place since. It has an interesting history of closing and then re-open under a different name/management and closing again. When I was inside in 2010 there was no power but it doesn't surprise that it is on now.

The three phase 208 VAC mains were disconnected, but a temporary split single phase 220 VAC connection was provided from a construction meter on the front lawn. That's how they powered the cameras and the TV in the maintenance man's living quarters.

So there were actually working security cameras in this place? I thought all the warning signs about that out front were fakes.

I don't recall the exact model but it was definitely not bullshit from early-mid 2010 to late 2012. They had the temp service coming in to a panel behind the indoor pool. That fed the maintenance guy's TV, mini-fridge, cable modem, a couple stumble lights and extension cords, etc. If you had a keen eye, there was newer yellow Romex running all around the place. That was all from the temporary panel. Those lines fed NEMA 5-15 outlets in a few buildings where they plugged in wall wart transformers to provide the DC for the cameras, and there was a linen closet in one of the basements that had coax lines to each camera. It was some shitty Chinese DVR, analog cameras, A->D, probably 160 or 320 lines of resolution. Not very effective security without an eyewitness. "Let's check the tape... Ok, looks like a male, average height, average complexion, dark clothing, and he's driving a sedan." Then in 2012 when the scrapping picked up, someone just walked off with the entire DVR.
