| | | Haven't had the chance to get out recently mainly due to work, but I figured I would post up some of my shots from previous outtings just to keep myself from being completely UE deprived. If there are any repeats, I'm sorry, but I'm usually good about that so my apologies. Most of you will recognize the location, but we love it & as a result we've been there a few times & keep inching in further & further ever time we go. Seeing as how we are still UE rookies, we haven't run in shutters blazing whenever we see a p.o.e 1.

My wife & I are planning a vacation soon based around our hobby & have considered a few states to visit(MA, PA, RI & CT & upstate NY) if you guys have any input drop me a line here or pm me. I don't want to break any rules about location specifics or real names so try to keep those out of the post if you choose to provide them. FYI the pics are large(hi-res on a sony a350) so they may take a bit to load

Before I got the a350, I was shooting with a 14mp nikon p&s but it was grainy, didnt do well in low light or with any sort of motion & couldn't zoom worth a damn. The place is awesome, still haven't explored everything there but we're working on it

| | | That looks like a wonderfully fun place to visit! Reminds me of the asylums of my past. Great coverage, bro! I laugh at the seriousness of the Sharpie tags signed KPPC. Anyone who uses hashtags should be crucified, lol!

you may have been there, its a very well known spot here & is an asylum. Those are more of the off beat shots that most people don't see. They're usually overly wrapped up with the huge buildings on the grounds. PA isn't that far off & if you ever make your way into this shithole known as NYC, hit me up, my wife & I always want to explore. We might be heading up your way in the near future. We're planning a UE vacation to either upstate NY (borscht belt) or pa, we're not sure yet, care to convince me? 1. maybe now you recognize it..... This is by far the most iconic building there. i have a head on shot set as my pc wallpaper because I love this location. I might turn it into a postcard.

| | | You know, I love the whole complex but I think the smaller buildings are my favorites. Theres less graffiti & destruction plus they're not overdone. Every site you go on has 93 & 7 but a lot of them bypass the less popular ones even though they have to pass through them (21 & 22) to get to the big show. On another site specific to this location, they mention a small mansion on the grounds that I'm dying to get to. & there are a few goodies on the NPS side as well. Where was your 3rd shot taken? Doesnt look too familiar

Yes sir/mam. Its down by the creek/river. I haven't made it there yet & on bing maps, it shows its still standing. Its not a huge mansion but its off the beaten path & should be in good shape. It shows that its not far from the marina but thats all I know at the moment. Im going to try to go either monday or Wednesday if anyone is going to be in the area, let me know

That "mansion" is the directors house. Aside from a few interesting fixtures, it is not as interesting. But go check it out, but be careful making your way down there as always. I have been going for 3 years and I just checked it out this December. Hopefully it is still accessible. Hope this helps:
The 2 active buildings circled in blue are the green house and the state park grounds maintenance shed. Make sure the park workers do not see you entering or exiting the building. The old path is harder to get down but easier in terms of not being seen as much. The alt way is faster with no obstructions. [last edit 2/3/2014 2:59 AM by Decayed Insanity - edited 2 times]

Judging from bing maps, there looks to be a 3rd route through the marina but I haven't checked accessibilty or cover. My wife & I might just split & take both routes you mentioned so we can spot each other. I know its not a mansion according to today's standards but it looks pretty damn nice [last edit 2/3/2014 7:15 PM by brooklynboy - edited 1 times]

There is a 3rd route from the marina area. The gate is usually closed and I think there is a spot to walk around it. As for cover, at this time of year it can be hard. If they see you climbing up there they might go around the maintenance shed and meet up with ya at the house, although that is highly unlikely lol. I do not like parking or walking in that, as building 125 (now the park office) is there. But you can take any route you please
