An abandoned house right in my neighborhood. < on 11/25/2014 3:13 AM > | Reply with Quote
I've explored the place numerous times with friends, and I believe its presumably owned by a bank, but none of the neighbors seem to mind me popping in and popping out. Me and my friend found some document that explain a lot of the history, as my friend found out, "an old cupple owned the house some time ago, they died and then handed it down to their kids, who didn't have any use for it. so they decided to overprice the house and after nobody bought it it went up for lease and the banks took it. and after that the house just sort of started to rot away." It was bought in 1983, and bought by the bank in 2002, so I believe it was abandoned in late 90s or early 2000s, probably the latter.

To clarify, that was a quote from my friend in a Facebook, not those docs. Speaking of which, I will get the docs soon, my friends has them at the moment.

Welcome to the party that is..........UER!!! Nah for real tho I like this set. Seems a waste to just let the ol' family homestead get taken by the gol-darn bank! Leeches! Really decent shots tho man I dig it.
Samurai ability to enter any establishment...thanks grandpa for all the training.

Thanks, I try my best with nothing but a camera phone. And you bring up a good point as I don't have any idea why a bank would want to own this house. Its worthless now, but why to hang on to it, I've no idea.

I get it when individual owners are sick or oblivious or just don't care, but I don't get it when banks allow places to go to shit like this.
Looks cool, though. The "open house" sign is a funny shot. All that graffiti just screams "stole a can of paint from dad," which is totally fitting for the location.
