| | | Okay, so this was my first time getting caught. I was checking out a scrap yard, and was caught hiding under a pile of cars by one of the workers. They asked me for my name, who I was taking pictures for, where I came from, and what I was doing there. Then, they escorted me off the property, and followed me in their trucks until they were satisfied I was gone. They weren't satisfied until I was in my car and pulling out of my parking space. One of the workers drove around the back of my car, and radioed something in. I suspect it was my license plate number. How, exactly, boned am I? Should I prepare for a visit from the cops?

| | | Actually, it turns out these guys were a bit more serious than the ones you two ran into. I got home, and just as I was starting to relax, a deputy showed up at my door. He took my personal information, and asked some questions. I think he got all the information he wanted, so I don't think he'll be coming back, but I can't go back to that location either. After all, if the owners start throwing around phrases such as "prosecution" and "industrial espionage," then the risk is way too high for my liking. Still, I'm in no legal trouble, so that's good.

| | | Posted by Ganesha Industrial espionage -- in a scrapyard? But, in the eyes of society, you are the one in the wrong, not the one wronged, trespasser. Now go explore someplace else ASAP, not getting caught.
| Yeah, apparently the recycling center has "state of the art" equipment. I don't know what secrets I could possibly steal, but apparently they believe they have some. If they're that concerned, I won't be going back there- I do NOT need the risk.

| | | Posted by Aran Well, I haven't heard back from them in about a month, so it looks like I'm well in the clear. I'll be a bit more careful in the future, and I'll have to stay away from that location for a while, but I think everything's good now.
| Honestly, I wouldn't ever go back to that location again. They have your license plate, they know what you look like. If you get caught again, definite jail time. But don't let this hiccup deter your exploring. If you don't have a close call, then you aren't doing it right.
