| Here's a lockpick. It might be handy if you, the master of unlocking, take it with you. |

| | | Actually, about the only reason we did it in the first place was because the friend i had brought along (who's just registered...) had found documentation stating the elevator was still certified. We also tested it before we got on to make sure it still worked and everything. The certification was going to expire this DEC, and there were six of us on the elevator so it wasn't entirely my decision, you weren't around when we tried it out. Honestly I myself thought it was a bad idea, but hey it oddly worked. So I thought nothing of it, though said i'd rather not go a second time, especially not in a cable car that looks like it was built in 1932 (or similar, judging by the plates over the buttons.) over a LARGE PIT. However, being a freight elevator it seemed like it may have been more of a reliable choice as opposed to conventional ones. Being as it was used to lift things heavier than six people, the cables and drives were also likely to work since thjey had minimal stress, and would last years before sagging. Knowing a bit about mechanics and how things work though, I figure I'll just look at the drive system next time before making that decision. Depending on the condition of everything. That, and it would be hilarious if we actually did have to call to be extracted, all six of us. But also pretty bad... so it's best to avoid that. In other news, yes, my friend's signing up as "Vahkiti." so you'll be able to find him on here whenever he joins. Hopefully he'll get more into this sort of thing, but I'll have to teach him a few things. I myself still have a lot to learn but I know how to generally NOT DIE. That is an important thing to know, not dying. as for pictures, meh, didn't take that many because what interests me more is "stuff" and how said "stuff" is laid out. That, and good architecture, which this building did not posses being a standard warehouse, or former factory of sorts. I still have a preference for buildings which are large, generally have good architecture, and are filled with things instead of being plain empty space. Even a simple chair can add some class to a room. Here's my two-cents though, as I still need to get the hang of indoor photography again, after having taken such a long break; (One of my favorites is below... that couch just looks so depressed!) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. I also have other images, but they're only for the individuals involved, as it features them.

| | | Yes, I know it was there because my friend was like "holy shit a house!" but it was pretty much empty, the television was moved elsewhere, second floor i think? or maybe inside the set. IT's actually really quite difficult to tell by the fact that buildings look kinda samey when they're even only sets. For one I thought the suburban sets were part of the office on the second floor, at one point. As for the elevator thing, there was six of us who tried it, including some individuals who are more trusted, so don't go blaming anyone Though I blame my friend for not knowing about elevators much, then again I'm not much better! Either way, it's such a simple elevator we could have climbed out if it got stuck. I also doubt a place this big has need of a basement since storage is just in empty spaces. Anyways, it was fun until that door was kicked, frankly I was rather annoyed as was to be expected, though through me and another member, we were able to deduce 90% of the people it wasn't since they were hanging with us. So... it might be better to just fess up at this point. Not going to go naming names because it's not my job to go around pointing the finger. Also, you're welcome CD. Wish I had taken more photos while I was there but, as a result of my lack of practice in the recent months I didn't really manage to take that many, Most were blurry, over exposed, or underexposed.

| | | Posted by Archer Also, a big, sarcastic thank you to whoever felt it was appropriate to go Rambo on the locked door that was connected to the alarm system.
|
At first I read that as "A big fuck you to whoever felt it was appropriate to go Rambo on the locked door", which seems just as appropriate... I'm hoping they don't lock it down, or put in more security. Although even if they don't, the next person to get caught in there will likely be stuck with proving they didn't break that door. Also, absolutely amazing pictures. The lighting and shadows in them are awesome (I particularly like the jail picture, and #4) is the movie script still there? |
I looked for the movie script where we had found it as well as in the surrounding rooms, and sadly it was gone =( As for the elevator thing, there was six of us who tried it, including some individuals who are more trusted, so don't go blaming anyone

| I don't think there was any blaming going on originally, and I don't think blaming should occur now. To me it just seemed like a friendly reminder that it wasn't a good idea. Yes at the time I think we all thought it was a fun and harmless thing to do, however Boffo and Archer are absolutely right, that it put both ourselves as well as other people at risk, and I know I'll avoid doing it again. I'm pretty sure every single one of us knows exactly who it was, and exactly who it wasn't. Regardless of whether they decide to "fess up" I know that I will personally avoid exploring with them in future.

| I personally don't think using the elevator was that bad - definitely not enough to assign "blame" to the one person who said it was safe. We all got on, and that was our choice. And if an engineer or elevator technician signed off that it is safe, I will trust that it is safe, 100%. Inspections are rigorous and thorough, and the profession is very tightly regulated. Besides, nothing bad came of it, so why is everyone dwelling on it? As for the door, I also don't want to go around pointing fingers (or making calls for someone to "fess up", which amounts to the same). That's not what we stand for as a community. Hopefully the person who did it has learned that that is not OK, and will be more careful in future.
