First time exploring this location.
Some friends and I got up at 6 am to make the 4 hour drive up. After a quick meeting with the owner we headed to the prison. The snowplow had stopped plowing a bit of a ways from the train tracks, so we just parked there because it's crown land (as far as we know). The snow was at least waist deep, and even when you stepped on the middle of the trail (which was somewhat packed down) you went down to your knees. We were told that the walk would take around an hour and fifteen minutes, but it took more like three.
Anyway, we finally got to the building and explored, took pics, etc. A lot of the inside was covered with a frost that made it sparkle in the light. After around 2 hours of exploring and trying to dry out our wet, snow-filled boots we left. The way back took a lot less time since we could walk in our footprints from the way there. I was kinda worried that my vehicle would get towed or something, but it was there and we left. The day took longer than we thought it would, but it was successful and we had a great time.
Here are some of my best and most interesting pics (hope this isn't too many).
