The summer of 2017, I made my third attempt into Six Flags. It was hot as hell, by the way. We made our way to the location and chose the front entrance as our PoE, and made it all the way to the booths before we saw it... The security guard.
(NOTE: We attempted to gain access the day before, approaching the entrance from the Michoud side. It was completely secure. I kinda plopped my head against the gate in defeat, and we hear an engine turn over from within the parking lot. A very old, yellow re-purposed cab emerged from the foliage within the parking lot, only to slink right back, in the most passive-aggressive show of authority I've ever seen. We opted to come back later.)
We spot the security guard in the same spot as yesterday. I chose to wait in lace for a while, evaluating my options. I felt like there was no use unless he moved. And since the dude has to stick around all day, he was bound to leave momentarily at any given time. We sat and waited for about 20 minutes, before he moved. He started driving slowly up to the entrance, made a loop around the front of the park and entered. We moved up along the sidewalk and behind the brush, until we reached a side-walk cutout possibly used for handicap vans or something of the like.
From here I notice a small group moving into the park on foot. I identified them... teenagers. I chose to hold my position again, and decided that this group would be my scapegoat. I waited for them to get past the entrance before we moved in. And we moved fast, gaining access through a staff entrance. We proceeded with caution, making our way to the log ride counter-clockwise of our position. We snap some shots here, and one of us spots the group we saw earlier making their way to us.
We start breaking down our tripods and moving to cover, evaluating our next move. Then BAM! Sonny Security comes wheeling around the corner like a bat outta hell right up into the group's face. "Oh, holy shit." He gets out of the vehicle and starts swinging his arm, yelling "Alright, ya'll get outta here! Let's go!" The group turns around and starts walking. The security guard drives at a crawl right behind them. Once his he was out of eye-shot we continued counter-clockwise along the park.
The rest of the tour was peaceful, despite our high tension. We were inside for 3 hours before we called it quits. We made our way out, still not having seen the security guard. We were almost out, taking the way that we used to get in. 20 damn feet away from the entrance, the security guard passes up the entrance. We booked ass onto the main street, where he had been approaching our front. He slows down and rolls his window down. Fortunately, we're all too used to this procedure and have all switched our memories cards out.
"Ya'll just came from in there huh?," Says him.
I approached him as the leader, "Nah, we're just taking pictures from the outside."
"I just saw ya'll in there."
"No, you didn't," I replied.
He crimps his mouth at me with side-eye stank face, "Aight"
And he sped off, pulling his phone out. We proceeded to book ass into a residential area where we had been parked. Now, if I had still been in the park, I would have been more truthful. But he wasn't getting shit outta me at that point. Not having been clear of the park by the time he found us. That was my impromptu attempt at social engineering, which I believe I may have approached the wrong way. If it had been a cop, I would have been more accommodating.
ANYWAY, that's my story about our diligent infiltration and a riveting experience with the security. I hope you guys enjoy what I brought ya.
