Can't tell if this is sarcasm or not. But CHP has it posted to their facebook page with pictures here. From the pictures, looks like she walked straight into a well-defined hole, not even a hole from decay.
It also made the news in other places. She was with her boyfriend (fortunately) and neither of them were cited for trespassing.
| No sarcasm. FB is spy/malware; no account. ¤Every step counts, be aware of your surroundings and expect hellholes to be anywhere, even in a well traveled public place. Eyes wide open and on what counts, your next foot fall or hand hold, always¤ Posted by dtewsacrificial
Thanks, MG. I do find it strange that the two weren't cited. Putting myself in the shoes of the property owner, I'd insist on pressing charges because I would presume that it would help protect me in court should the dumb-asses decide to try to hold me responsible for their medical bills. (Aside from the possibility of theft/vandalism, fear of somebody getting hurt in hard-hat/hazardous conditions is what motivates most property owners to secure their decrepit properties.)
| Well put. They may yet be cited for trespassing... Whenever you are, you are responsible for yourself. The only reward for failure is death.
