| | | https://www.youtub...atch?v=f7h52MuQSc8 The Overholt Distillery operated from 1800 to 1987. By 1810, the company was outputting 12 gallons to 15 gallons of rye whiskey per day. Overholt incorporated the distillery as A. Overholt & Company in 1859. And thus, a new six-story, 100-foot long building was built to expand production to 860 gallons per day. By 1900, the distillery had became a national brand and was one of the largest distilleries in the country. In 1987, Old Overholt was sold to the James Beam Distilling Company and production moved to Kentucky. We also ripped off the Sam & Colby XPLR Sticker.

| | | But yes, my main purpose is to share my videos and promote them. That's really it tbh... Other than that, I have nothing else to contribute. I don't really share locations either unless I trust the person or actually know them. The locations that I name drop are name dropped only because a bunch of people within the area knows about the place. Like I said, it's almost unnecessary to even hide it if everyone knows about the location. I mean hell, if you look up abandoned Pittsburgh, you're going to see the same 3 places, a school, a church, and a hospital. Everyone knows these places. I protect and help preserve the ones that aren't well known to the community/ public. I was well do not want places being destroyed. I don't condone vandalism at all. I know a person in my own facebook group who's worse than me and gives out locations left and right without any thought. doesn't even need to know you, he just gives you the location, address or coords, where's its at, and doesn't look back. That's not me. I don't stand by that. Me, I actually do take time to protect sites that I know very little people know about. If I know no one even knows about a place, I'll came up with a name with my crew for our exploration. If something is VERY well known, I just name drop it because everyone knows about it and there's no need to hide it. This should be hopefully logical. I don't intend or mean to cause harm in any shape or form. Also, I'm not one of those people who will title a video, "EXPLORING ABANDONED HOSPITAL (FOUND BLOOD!)". We are actually serious about our explorations and if we need to protect a location, we will. We title our videos as if its a documentary or a TV show. But if there's a location we really want to protect, we will come up with our own name/title and preserve it and give out little or no history to deeper protect the site.

| I promise you, you won't get far at all with that "iTs CalLeD pRoMoTiOn!!!" crap. The whole reason it's hard to find locations is because the ones who do it for the pageantry of urban exploring, not for internet fame. The only reason you'd share it so much in Pittsburgh is to garner a greater presence there, in your interest. Which, and I shouldn't have to tell you this, goes against the entire ideal of protecting locations. I post here and Instagram. That's it. I don't post names, and history, and name drop another group like you're slick. Last I saw, the Sam & Colby stickers were still there. Nobody's buying your reverse psychology promotional tactics. Go work for Disney. And furthermore, nobody wants to leave the UER just so you can get views. Post the video ITT and maybe you'll get a little better feedback. You've gotta understand, the Urbex "secret handshake" is taken seriously here. People who look like they're here for some kinda fame don't get a very good reception among the people. I mean, dude. If TheProperPeople can do it and not get blasted the way you are, you gotta figure you messed up somewhere. And it's obvious that you know what it was and you seem to not care that your attitude on "PrOmTiOn!!" endangered the spot. If a hundred people from each posting saw your video and twenty of them recognized the building but didn't know it was abandoned, you just opened that location wide up for anybody who's not actively exploring and decides they wanna play in an abandoned building. Next thing you know? The plantation got burned down, the gas station was pushed to demolition, the power plant got locked up again. I hate to sound cold here, but people like you are why the few big spots in New Orleans are constantly being locked up. Because everybody wants to be a youtuber.

| Trust me, I haven't messed up anywhere. I'm fine. You people just don't understand what I mean nor understand where I'm even coming from.. Also, "If a hundred people from each posting saw your video and twenty of them recognized the building but didn't know it was abandoned, you just opened that location wide up for anybody who's not actively exploring and decides they wanna play in an abandoned building." This could be the same even if I didn't name a location. Basically just saying lets just stop doing videos, they'll make people want to go to these places if they recognize them. And so what about YouTube. I know why shits getting locked up and boarded and stuff. It's not even necessarily my fault. Trust me, I hate it too that a group of people (and im not even talking about YouTubers) damage a site and do this and that and pushes the site into being locked up or demolished. I'm fine. And it isn't my fault that theres fucking websites online showing these locations and name dropping them and even some, giving out the coordinates of the places. That isn't my fault. Once again, for the places that almost everyone knows (in my area at least for this speaking), I'll name drop it because its super popular and not even worth coming up with a name. Lesser known locations, hell yeah, I'll protect the name and protect everything I can to not have anyone destroy it. My intentions aren't for me to just go here, post a video, give the name of it, and be like, "Here you go, go crazy! Have fun!". Nah, that's not me at all. You guys are just a little too sensitive about these things. In my eyes, if a place is well known and I mean VERY well known, the damage has already been done. Just because I post a video about it, name drop it, doesn't mean the damage will get worse. If people know the place, and its VERY well known, people are going to go there and do whatever regardless of me. But I do understand from your stand point. Like here in Pittsburgh, everyone knows the abandoned school and church that's here and its on websites and news articles and magazines and everything. Everyone goes to the same spots here when they come to Pittsburgh because its our most famous and popular abandoned. Its not even worth nor necessary to preserve the names of them. I'll protect a very lesser known location that isn't shown online, that very little people know about because I want to keep it secret. I want to keep it hidden and protected because not many people know about it. I feel like this should be normal. Also, Among The Unknown itself wasn't necessarily made for us to be YouTubers. It was just me and 2 other guys explored a house and we wanted to do more and thus, started documenting our explores and just posting them online and somehow got a following. We didn't know anything about urbex or what it stood for in its community. We were just having fun sharing our videos to people. Now that we're getting more of a following, we just choose to keep exploring and making videos. Not for fame, but because we just like it. We like sharing our stuff to people. None of this is for the fame. We don't care about that. We have our own lives to care about more than this lol. Obviously not doing it for the money either. Just doing it because we think its fun. I'm using "promote" loosely. Basically should had just stuck with "share" instead because that's really all I'm doing anyway. Just sharing the videos and just allowing the world to see them. Simple as that.
