Over the last few years I've gotten away from Urban Exploring, mostly because Oklahoma and the U.S. Central Plains are boring. I like grand places, ones without vandalism and that have history behind it.
I made a commitment to myself in 2018, that starting in 2019 I would travel internationally at least once a year and visit a unique location.
Just a few weeks ago, I flew from Oklahoma to Denver to Frankfurt to Almaty, and then to Kyzylorda. From there I grabbed a cheap taxi, which dropped me off along the highway at a café. Then I started what ended up being a 27.5 mile, or 44km hike. I originally projected 22 miles, so I guess I screwed up along the way.
I have heard many stories about others getting caught, including just days before I was there. Believing I'm the first American to do this and wanting to avoid any chance, I played it safe.
A few pictures for now, there will be more and drone video to come, along with a story about my travel.
