I'm interested in knowing this too. Debating on if I should get the Go pro 7 or 8. Both have pros and cons. Tend to drop things alot and not sure if I want the 8 because you can't replace the screen.

Can't speak for the 8, but I have the 7 and it handles itself pretty well in most situations. Like anything though, it has its limits and for use at night and in truly dark areas, like tunnels or fully-boarded rooms, you'll want a clip-on light or something. As long as it has
some kind of highlights/reflections to work with, it should be fine, but it doesn't work miracles either.
Skip to about three minutes in and you'll see it performing indoors during daylight hours, but where the windows are covered in vines. It was actually fairly dark inside considering, and it came out quite well:
