If Google maps doesn't have what you are looking for, your best bet is to check other sources of satellite photography for something that might be slightly more up to date.

There are a few ways to get at known-recent satellite images, though all that I know of either cost money or require you to have a good reason to view them.
Most of the daily images you will find of non-populated areas have a resolution of ~3 meters per pixel. Higher resolution passes do happen but are far less frequent and usually require more money / extra justification to get.
