Sometimes I explore a building, location, or event... but this past weekend I did something much more to the point. In light of these crazy times, I returned to the fundamentals. This post is highlighting a RAW exploration of a city and its streets.
Richmond had been put on lockdown for a pandemic and eventually had a curfew for a protest. While many stay inside for fear, some are cautiously venturing out. The city, scorched baking in the summer's ungodly heat, still feels chilled over and cold.
Where do we go from here? How to best fix/change/help/heal?
Those of us that were out and about that weekend kept our distance and were mainly silent. We all poked around, took photos, and went home.

Good set of photos! Do you know what the 6 story brick building was with the boarded up windows?
I've only been to Richmond once, a few years back. The amount of Confederate statues/memorials really weirded me out. I get that it was the CSA capitol but still they went a little overboard on that stuff. I'm so happy to see it all come down!
Everyone has a dark side, mines just a little more illuminated.

That's the Lee Medical Building. Directly across from where the Robert E. Lee statue used to be. Built in 1950. Still in use as medical offices until fairly recently when it was sold. Supposedly to be turned into apartments.
