Well, I don't think I need to say this year has been...just BRUTAL!!! I started it getting out of a horrible security job and into a landscaping/maintenance job...then the K. C. Chiefs made it to their first Superbowl in 40 years; and won it!
Then the crap happened. I really don't want to talk about it...fortunately, this awesome site, and my many explores helped keep me sane. Well, saner. Even with a couple close calls, a damn near arrest, and a bloody head wound couldn't stop me for long. And Oysterhead, if you see this, I'm glad we were able to explore a few of these locations together, hope 2021 gets us into some bandos more often!
This is my first time doing a YiR since joining almost 3 years ago, and I feel like I'll have a part 2 coming out too. I hope you all enjoy, and I wish for us all to have a safe, productive, and happy holiday season...as well as a new year that could bump its way up to something at least 3 notches above the sh*tstorm that was 2020.
1. My first explore this year...really had no idea yet of this ironic precursor.

5. This was a nice revisit; ended up running into some kids who decided to ride their bikes in the pool!
6.
7. February they started demolishing this hospital...I couldn't not say goodbye.
8. Met up with some fellow explorers later that day, and we toured the place together.

19. Sometimes I gotta entertain myself after the explore.
20. Not abandoned, but who doesn't love cooling towers?!
21.
22. Another revisit site, where I ran into a transient who was okay with me exploring...nice guy, with a sweet little crashpad.
23. So...maybe I ended up in jail once. (I been a bad, bad boy)

25. Right...and wear a mask!

37. At yet another revisit to my 2020 Holy Grail site, I ran into a ghosthunter and her man. We threw in together, grateful that none of us turned out to be cops. She decided to utilize an abandoned wheelchair.

42. I may not be a faithful follower of Brother John Birch, but I was glad to make it to this church again...one of my more 'legal' explores.
43.
44. Unfortunately, this site was mostly demo'd since my first visit. Those who have been here probably know the movie that gave it its claim to fame. Also ran into a YouTube explorer here.

56. This one was quite a tragic loss...in September of this year, another fire would ravage this iconic building, causing the cupola to collapse into it.

66. I revisited this site, and after only 8 pics, I noticed 3 police cars nearby, coming for me. The cell blocks hadn't been accessible my first run, so the PD response time really killed my explore. No charges filed...but I can't go back there.

74. I wish I'd had more time here...but I had to make a quick escape from this currently being demo'd hospital. I'm hoping for a retry soon, before it's gone.

And that's your ballgame, folks! It was a hell of a ride, with just a little bit left to endure. Thanks for looking! 🙂
