This was originally an orphanage then converted and expanded into a large upscale boarding school. It has been abandoned for about 20 years. Someone started to remodel it, I can see it making a nice apartment complex, but likely it was just too costly.
Three buildings here, the boiler building, the main building which was huge and wonderful, and a church! It really made for a great day. I also got my girl to come with me, she is digging it and continues to join me on adventures!
This is going to be a long post, but it is warranted.
The back of the main building
Boiler room
In the main building now, basement first
A in ground pool in the subbasement!
Maintenance room
Large cafeteria and kitchen
Moving up to floors 1-3. Although run down, you can tell that it was quite nice when it was active.
I like this super yellow room. It's like a kick in the eyeballs.
This is right by the main entrance. Walking in the door we immediately noticed the clean bike standing up and the area was relatively well kept. It was quite eerie and we proceeded with caution. After finding obvious signs that someone was squatting there we kept a move on.
We found a few rooms full of random stuff. It may be what was left there after it was sold.
A porch that connects the wings to the main building
This was neat. A sink/refrigerator/stove. This would not meet code today. The fridge was used to store insulin and the like. (according to labels on the outside)
Alright, to the church!
A respectable basement
Someone stashed these hear. Probably the owner, that door is barricaded.
There was a Jewish section in the library and we found some anti-semitic newspapers lol.
No stained glass unfortunately, but I did get a picture of myself up on the stage preaching post apocalyptic style!
