A few friends and I, almost a year ago, took on this expedition to explore a facility around the Bay Area. I don't want to share too many details about this place for reasons well-known to all. When we explored it, I believe it was in the process of decommissioning, so we had to skirt security and do it all in the very early morning hours. It has since been fully closed, but there are future plans with the site, so I assume security remains present.
This place was breathtakingly unique, a refreshing relief from the broken glass and endless tagging of other spots. We found no signs of other exploration, all the more reason for keeping it private now. Here are some photos from that night.
Better view of the main part of the facility. By our guesses the tower was around 20 stories high.
No idea what this is but it looks cool!
The bowels of the beast...
Climbing on the buildings, great views!
The crown jewel. The tower. Ain't nothing like chasing the clouds. Plus a few bird nests encountered along the way!
So that's where they really end up! Mom always said they went to a farm upstate with other birthday balloons...
Overall, very fun trip. I think security knew someone was there but couldn't find us in the concrete maze that was this place. I hope that it's not too locked up right now so other curious adventurers can stumble across it and enjoy all it has to offer!
