| | | This is a tactic I have used many times in the past, and most of the time it works as far as getting to know someone, and what they like without being obviously interested (because some people feel threatened when the think they are being flirted with): Start a conversation with her. Talk about some things you like. Tell her about this snowy adventure and gauge her reaction. Ask her questions so she doesn't feel like just an ear for you. Let the conversation flow into un-related interests or hobbies, and see what she says. Talk about a band or artist, ask her who she likes. What she listens to. Make comments on everything she says, be interested in what she has to say more than what you're saying. There are so many ways a conversation like this can lead to a [seemingly] innocent get-together; "You like that band too? I hear they're coming around soon, you gonna go to the show? Maybe we can go together" or "I've never tried Thai food... actually my friend told me about a really cool Thai place on Town Road and I've been meaning to check it out. Hey maybe we can have lunch there sometime". Obviously some rather poo-ey examples, but I think you know what I'm saying. Sometimes conversations like these go absolutely nowhere, and you can't find any common ground to build any sort of relationship, platonic or otherwise. If that's the case, maybe she's just shy. Those are the worst kinds, it's always so much harder to get to know them and whatnot. Anyway, now I'm rambling. Good luck with the hot chick

| | | Ok, so heres how it went. Thursday night, its a coincidence. We where both sick with that cold thats been going around, so we didn't do the snowboarding trip. Instead, I met her at the Starbucks near my house, and we sat up there and talked for a while, about 30 minutes. After that, we went over to my house, and since she had to be home around 5 and my parents weren't going to be home for a while, we had the whole place to ourselves, so I showed her how to play San Andreas on PS2, then we hung around for a while, and, lets just say this, we are officially going out now, after I left out a huge chunk of the story
