| | | Hello there. I am new to this site and the UE movement, and I'd like to share some pics to introduce myself. http://www.geocities.com/dmitriy_mendeleev/basement.html These are pictures from a small adventure my friend and I had under Convocation Hall, University of Toronto. | | | heh...that place is sweet - i remember while exploring the steam tunnels, unfortunately closing a door I shouldn't have under con.hall, and we had to run for the huge doors in the place to get out...hehe...welcome...
Jono.

| | | FYI, That lock is a medeco biaxial, the pins don't just move up and down, but rotate about 60 degrees to either side. While it is possible to manipulate this lock, it is very hard, almost impossible in a practical use situation... If it has become rather frustrating, now you know why!!!

| | | Excellent! Welcome to the boards! I like that you called this a UE movement... makes me feel... empowered somehow.
It's a drag, it's a bore, it's really such a pitty To be lookin' at the board, not lookin' at the city. |

| | | Even if that door was closed and locked, it's very easy to slip past it justusing your bare hands. Just a fyi. Welcome to the boards, V. [last edit 1/16/2006 11:05 PM by Archer - edited 1 times]

| | | Thank you guys for replies . to r0sie: Wow. That saved me a lot of time. Thanks. to Archer: is that through the door on the last picture? BTW, it was open yesterday. Yet another miracle. I didn't venture to go down there, though. As you apparently were there, did you try to climb the uppermost ladder? Just curious.

Naw, I was referring to this image: Usually it's locked, but it isn't a challenge if you know what to do. As for the ladders, I've never climbed the uppermost one, but I've been up the other two. I see you mentioned that past explorers have been there... was it the engineering tags written in the dust up there? I think I have one of my own up there, actually.... I'd have to go back and check it again. As for that door in the last picture; it's usually locked but that's mainly just an exit out route. The other way down there is much easier to get through.

Yes, it's harder to close it from outside than to open And yes, there were the engineering tags up there. I'm the guy, who went with vasilisk

The tags were still up there? Excellent, means that mine is probably still there as well (for anyone concerned by this, I don't tag when I'm off the UofT grounds; but it's engineering tradition to leave a small writing of your grad year and discipline when you find someplace cool on campus). If you guys want to meet up or something on campus, just drop me a PM and we can work from there.
