| Draining! Ish. entry by MindHacker 4/7/2006 4:57 PM
| After searching the entire campus for drains, and only finding one that I could have fit into (If I felt like crawling. Nothanks.), I was kayaking on the river. There was a tunnelly thing under railroad tracks... Not that interesting, except it ended in a beautifully lit waterfall (Or so it looked, from a distance. So, of course, I took my gf and we had to go explore it. Looking for the infall found us an ugly-looking welded grate draining a large pond, but why let that stop us? Instead of Popping a nearby grate, fearing the pipe would force us to slither, we instead walked around to the 5'6" x 4'6" outfall. Looked moderately shallow (a few inches) so I put on boots, pulled out her maglight(2a, next time it will be 4d), and we went for it. In 3" of mud, nice and suction-y. Interesting Spiders, a natural spring flowing in through a crack, and the waterfall at the end was beautiful. Turns out the pipe we thought was too small was 3' corrugated plastic, not my favorite but I've used them to get to caves before. So, we took some pictures, left, washed ourselves off, and went for more traditional trespassing. Like climbing through an earth grinder. Really, It just makes me want to find a real drain.

| | | I did this one for the pictures... Got myself a nice one of the gf for my desktop. And real drains have sidewalks, and mazes.... Like you said, someday. You might want to think about it, Mr. Probation. And the earth crusher is a mobile version of what you had, tractor trailer size when folded up. I climbed through it mainly so I could mention it in casual conversation. "Ahh, Earth-crusher-machineses, went through one of them once. [sigh]". And cause it was there. Conveyer belts, spinny screen parts, and a huge chomping? crushing? bucket thing. The holes in which I was too big to fit through. By 6 feet.
