| | | down in West Virginia... outside of Winchester (guessing about NW) theres an abandoned airstrip out in the middle of nowhere... theres alot of construction going on around it ... if that helps. as well in Newton-Ransom, Pennsylvania (off 307 out of Scranton) I believe is an abandoned airstrip... thers a building still in use but if you got an emergency, you got an emergency... better than landing on I-81, which i've always wanted to do hahahahahahah Last Lesson I had as we were flying over Harrisburg, PA I was asking my Flight instructor if I could have a fake emergency and land right on the Harrisburg Beltway..... we got quite a laugh thinking about all those uptight political fucks swerving out of the way in theyre BMW's and Benz's
EDIT: In order to find that Newton-Ransom Airport, goto that site, Goto NE Pennsyvana, scroll ALLL THE WAY to the bottom.... its called "Scranton Airport" by the pictures, i dunno if i'd really wanna land on that.... might break a bone or 2

| | | I'm not sure if this is what your looking for, but there is an abandoned R.C.A.F airport about 5 miles from my house. I have a bunch of pictures of what's there now but there really isn't much. It's now a public park/nature trail and memorial for the 19 servicemen who lost their life while stationed at the base. The runways are still there but are mostly covered by dirt now and form a huge triangle. I couldn't imagine someone trying to actually land a plane on them anytime soon (a corn field has been planted inside the triangle). The original name of the site was the R.C.A.F #4 bombing and gunnery school. It was decommissioned in 1969. It's located about 2 miles west of Fingal Ontario at 34469 Fingal line (County road 16). I was there over the past weekend with my family. The buildings are all pretty much gone now. The only stuff left there are building foundations (former fire hall, hangar's, barrack's etc.), some I beam's from hangar's and the fire hydrant's that were installed in 1940 to service the base. The path's are the former base' street's. If you google Fingal, Ontario into google map's you can see the triangle of runways to the south west on the satellite view. Here's a link to a write up of the former base. http://elgincounty...03_01_archive.html
