| | | Yeah, the term Skinwalker is a very native american term, is it not? Or do I just assume so? I've always been very interested in the skinwalkers myth. I live in PA, and surprisingly, we have some weird myth histories. One very prominent one is about various wolf-like man creatures. Skinwalkers is/were-wolves, ect. Apparently they have been viewed and run-in to throughout settlement history to modern day especially in areas close to the appalachians. What started my interest in Skinwalkers was a trip I took to New Mexico. I spent some time on the Navajo reservation there and ran into some interesting circumstances. I do have a few stories, but most people look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them. haha. One excellent author who has written about skinwalkers/were-wolf type creatures (specifically those in PA) is Caitlín R. Kiernan. She's definitely worth looking into, especially since she is a paleontologist, so she uses a lot of factual evidence in with her myth/story telling.
