| | | Posted by Squidgit My car just failed it's E-Test. I need the MAS replaced, and that's not even a guarantee that will fix the problem. Atomx took his car for an oil change, and now is coming home with a bill for over $400 since his breaks are fucked up.
So I have two freaking shitty cars that I am spending probably over $1000 to fucking get fixed.
URGH. I HATE CARS
| you guys got fucked... there is NOTHING ON A CARS' BRAKE SYSTEM THAT SHOULD COST OVER $400 to fix. Here in NY, there are two different inspection criteria. New York City/Long Island and then the rest of the state. Just a couple of years ago, everything went computerized so the state could keep track of who was getting inspections. Made faking and selling 'hot' inspection stickers harder to do. (damn near IMPOSSIBLE now). Anyways, OBDII cars have to be plugged in and checked for any warning lights. I went through hell with my 98 Cavalier because i had the DRL's and ABS disabled. Try explaining why the ABS doesn't work to a fuckhead that doesn't even have a 9th grade education... you mention rally racing and they look at you like 'well, hell, Merle, that ain't NASCAR. uh huh huh huh... that ain't racin'.' makes you want to smash their teeth out with a set of bolt cutters. Now with my new car, they don't even plug it in to the machine, not until it is one model year old. Samurai

| | | I had to take my XJ to pass, well, my wheelin' XJ. hollow cat Mustang 19lb injectors no EGR or any emissions control stuff 480,000km on the original 4.0L It barely passed, but it passed nonetheless. Now this thing was a major pos, yet my mother's 1996 Dodge Avenger with a 2.2L 4popper failed horribly. Ive acctually never had a Jeep that didn't pass emissions come to think of it. Well, one, but it went from being a 1994 XJ to being a 1987 XJ
