Went with a friend for a quick visit. There's LOTS of poison oak everywhere. Those who have been there... the usual "parking spot" has a wall of poison oak to the right up against the fence, so passengers need to exit first before parking. Even at that, you're bound to get the oil on your car, so be careful. Also, when I first parked there, my catalytic converter damn near started a fire from some of the weeds underneath...they didn't look dry, but they were. So about a minute after we parked, and smelled and saw the smoke, we moved down the road and parked right front of the gate on the other side of the road. There's no "No Parking" sign and there's only a simple bungee cord holding the gate shut. (side note, we even checked out the other side of the road, went up the trail to the water towers which are still in use for residents down the hill).
There's a ton of poison oak around the camp structures, so be careful. And the flies are pests. Remember the bee hive? Well it's in full effect...very populated and humming away. The path to the rec hall at the end of the camp is getting grown in with poison oak.
It was nice to get back during the day, it was a very impromptu visit...literally planned this morning at the last minute.
Anyway, the place (except for the summer growth) is pretty much the same... nothing new. Every time I visit the mess hall, the chairs are always in different places.
I posted a gallery of my pics.
And for the noobs with L3 access, don't ask me for coords....you gotta earn those.
