I was under the impression that the Colorado was just a GM modification of Isuzu's DMAX Trucks with an Atlas engine.

It is.

Down here, you can get a Silverado with more equipment and crew cab for that price, out the door. Sounds like GM is screwing Canadians.

Seriously. The future in-law just bought the Colorado work truck, 4x2 with auto and NO other options for $15k, below list, from the dealer. If he wanted the 4x4 auto it would've been about $19k.

Then he got trade in and GM employee discount on top... he financed like $9 on a brand new truck.

It's sad that they're doing it, too. I think GM makes the best half-ton out there today. To me, it seems like they're losing a vital market.

the mid-size/compact market is really dominated by the Ranger/Dakota and the Toyota Tundra as far as I can tell. The Colorado/Canyon are just too overpriced and underperforming to take seriously. Right now, you can finance a brand new Silverado 4x4 or Sierra 4x4 for what a Colorado/Canyon goes for.
(at least in northern NY, Vermont and New Hampshire)

I chose it over the chevy due to the cheapness looking of the aveo. I also stayed away from the hatchback, they looked and felt cheap as well.

You know, I have been in both the Wave and the Aveo. The one thing I did notice is the Wave has a smmother suspension over the Aveo.

i am a Chevy guy, and have driven the Aveo (a friend of mine had an avocado green one before she turned into a crackhead) and I would be lying if i told you it wasn't fun to throw around. It really wasn't a bad car, but it also wasn't a Cadillac either. I suppose it makes a good first car, or a second commuter car and where my brother works, they don't get them in for repairs all that often. It just seems like that when they do get an Aveo in for repairs, it's something really ridiculous AND catastrophic.

As a note, the US didn't get the Wave. Pontiac in the US called it the, this hurts, G3.

Atomx, what year is your Wave? I remember reading that starting in 2008, GM produced the Wave/Aveo at a new plant in Mexico and I am wondering if the build quality changed over the Korean plant.
