UE places in the GTA that are now gone

So I'm assuming that it would not be verboten on this forum to ask about past "notorious" locations for urban exploration that have since been demolished?

I ask because I'm writing a fictional story (but set in real-life early 2010s Toronto) that includes a character who is involved in UE. I'm a stickler for accurate details, and I'd like to include one or more actual sprawling locations for chapters in the story. As an example, Whitby Psych would be a perfect location, if not for the fact that the old buildings were torn down a few years too early.

Is there a list of any large locations in the GTA like that (well known inside the community) that stood until 2015 or later, that can be talked about now that they are gone? Thanks in advance!

There are plenty of locations open to the public and level 2 users like yourself in the UE DB. Lots of locations big and small to be found, most if not all are demolished and therefore open to you. Feel free to look there.

I've been faced with this situation, and honestly it's a lot more fun to make up a fictional abandonment with details nodding to real locations, than to set your fiction in a real location, especially if you've never been there yourself. Unless you need background details to make the character sound credible, I guess.

And the LDB is here to help: almost all of the locations you'll be able to view are no longer highly sensitive. You can also use the DB Map to look around if you want to think more about specific location.

The big Toronto sites back then would have been the Brick Works pre-Evergreen, Hearn, and the Malt Plant. To a lesser extent the Molson plant on Fleet. Symes Destructor was smaller, but got a lot of traffic (now a brewery).
