Has anyone been to the Nady building and warehouse in Emeryville? I pass by this abandoned site daily and wondered if anyone has attempted an excursion in or around the place. I looks very interesting and tempting. I may at least take pictures from beyond the fence.

Heading your advice, I did The Google, and found out this place is a dump. Including a Google Street View from a year ago. I also found this tasty bit, dated January 1st, 2019: "Significant progress was made in December towards abatement of the blighted 'Nady Site' at 6701 Shellmound Street. A Compliance Agreement was signed by the developer, property owner, and City, effective December 19. The demolition permit was approved on December 18 and is ready-to-issue. Meanwhile, lead-based paint and asbestos removal activities got underway in preparation for demolition of the buildings on the site." That, from a link on the first page of results. Granted, The Google was very scary and it was difficult to push the buttons with all the letters on them, but I faced my fears and persevered. I expect The Google Machine will be easier to use next time - as I am no longer a scared. OP - If you can read through my intended douchy sarcasm, you should have figured this is now ACTIVELY undergoing lead and asbestos abatement. Seeing as you won't know for 30+ years whether the HEPA cartridge in your respirator did its job, I personally would leave this one alone. Besides that, reading all the Google links, it really does sound like a dump and probably not worth the explore. Stay safe.

Give abandonment a reason for its sacrificial reclamation to nature. Love it. Remember it. Take a picture. Share it. Leave the decay to nature. Lifetime member of The Anti-MyInstaTubeTweetFace consortium. |

Thanks for the info. Yes the Nady site is a dump. It is surrounded by a homeless encampment with tons of trash. They live on the perimeter of the fence that covers the Nady site. There was also a bulldozer at work inside the fence area. I think I will steer clear of this one. There are better places to explore here.

The Nady building has been demolished. I took some pictures before it was completely torn down. There was some good pieces of art in the interior. I was not able to get any drone footage because I was one day too late after demolition.

Recently came across some of my pictures of when I visited this place before it was demolished. Unfortunately quite trashed towards the end of its lifetime. Had some interesting interactions with homeless to say the least. #1

I met/got caught at the front door by whom I have to assume was Mr. Nady. I should have asked for a tour...

..... Maybe. Only way for you to find out is to meet me in person. Though who knows what Mr. Nady will do to you in person.
