Firefox & Extensions
entry by Avatar-X

I recently had to re-download and re-install all of my FireFox extensions. So, here is a list of the ones I use. Anyone who still uses IE, or FireFox plain, is sorely in need of an upgrade.

BugMeNot
-------------------
Allows one-click entry of username and password details for sites that force you to register, like nytimes.com.

Nuke Anything
-------------------
Right-click on anything and choose "Remove" to instantly blast it from your site. I use this to remove frames and shit that get in my way when I'm trying to read an
article.

Web Developer
-------------------
Puts a tool bar with tons of goodies into FireFox. Great for someone who works with web code a lot, like me!

Popup ALT Attribute
-------------------
Image ALT tags aren't meant to popup when you rollover them, but they do this in IE. This extension adds this functionality to FireFox, since many websites use ALT tags to put extra info about the image.

Googlebar
-------------------
The google toolbar for FireFox. Insanely useful. The feature I use the most would have to be the quick find buttons.

Allow Right-Click
-------------------
Disables those pesky right-click-disable scripts.

Google Images Re-Linker
-------------------
Makes it so a Google Image Search links directly to the images, instead of the
page that the images were on.

Adblock
-------------------
completely removes ads from webpages based on a filter. I block not only animated
ads and flash ads, but also sites like intellitxt.com which insert little text
ads into a news article.

UndoCloseTab
-------------------
Oops! Accidently closed the wrong tab? UndoCloseTab brings it back, history and
all.

Tab X
-------------------
Puts a little X in every tab, making them way easier to close.

miniT
-------------------
Makes it so that you can re-arrange your tabs by clicking-and-dragging.

Super DragAndGo
-------------------
Select some text, and drag-and-drop it anywhere to Google Search. Select a plain-text URL and drag-and-drop it anywhere to open it. VERY useful, becomes second-nature to use.

LoremIpsum Content Generator
-------------------
I mainly use this when working on design mockups -- Creates lorem ipsum paragraphs at the click of a button.

Paste Quote
-------------------
Adds a "Paste Quote" option to the right-click menu of any Text Area, I use this
to paste quotes of what people said on UER without having to put in [quote] tags.

User Agent Switcher
-------------------
Got a site that says you need to be using IE? User Agent Switcher will fool it.

TinyURL Creator
-------------------
Lets you make tinyURLs from the site you're on now with one click.

Favicon Picker
-------------------
Edit the Favicon (bookmark icon) of bookmarks, including setting your own or
deleting it with this extension. I used it to fix my UER icon problems.

ieview
-------------------
Adds an option to view the site in IE, or always view the site in IE. I use it for compatibility testing.

BetterSearch
-------------------
Puts thumbnails in google (and other) search engine results of the sites. Very neat.

MediaPlayerConnectivity
-------------------
I fucking hate plugins, and I hate having to watch a video inside a tiny window on the website it's coming from. This plugin replaces all media windows (quicktime, windows media player, etc) with a clickable square. Clicking will launch the video in the player of your choice, allowing you to full-screen, save-as, whatever.

ColorZilla
-------------------
A color picker and much more. I use it for development stuff.

It's a lot, but they're all awesome.

Thanks Av. Had some of those already, but was missing some of the more useful ones you have.

Firefox would suck big time for me without "Mouse Gestures":
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/39/
You can close windows, go back/forth <<<the most important for me, open new window/new panel and probably some other features I don't use.
Check it out.

Thanks, I forgot about that one

JS Blocker is one of the beefiest hard-nosed security/privacy/adware control features you can use.
