I drove the Golf R today. That was at noon, and I've still got a raging semi 3 and a half hours later. Not to mention a big, goofy smile.

Subaru and Mitsubishi are so dead to me now. What a RIOT... the car I drove was a 6 speed manual, pretty smooth and refined until you put your foot into, and holy CRAP does that thing haul ass. And stick to corners. And make a glorious sound. Want, want, want, want... oh my god want.



Really hope VW does some North American rally stuff with this, especially since Mitsubishi has reduced itself to building spiritless econobox appliances.

Such a shame that I'd have to buy the 4 door and spend $37,000 to get into one. It's also a shame that it's so much more expensive than a Mazdaspeed3.

Volkswagen is? then I guess you are even more disgusted with Porsche. I'd say that everything mechanical has always steadily improved, so fuck what it looks like......and if it aint broke, don't fix it. Plenty of other cars look different but continue to be gutless shitboxes.

As for the R....it can't sound as glorious as the R:.32. I miss the sound of a VR6 almost as much as I miss sex.

And the bug? It went from a perfect form to a shitbox arch, and back to....oh the same shape....

i think that the modest redesign of the Beetle has un-girl-ified it. It reminds me of a 911 with a weight issue.

It was raging for about 2 1/2 hours but I was getting sore and chaffed.

Lets see if they bring the Focus RS into north america...that might also complicate things slightly, although I think AWD is the way to go
