Has anyone rescued cars from locations?

Has anyone during explorations find cars and save them? (the legal way) I've tried a few times but it's hard to explain how you know about it and not let them know you were trespassing on there property. I would like to hear your stories, here is 2 of mine. Car was a DMc delorean , it was posted on here in the car find threads. It was in a garage at a dilapidated house that was for sale. After a very rough description of the location by the member on here that found it I was able to find the realtor and contact him. Upon getting the owners contact info I was very disappointed he sold it a few days before for $5000. Another time I found a late 60s charger rt 440 6 pack car with a pistol grip 4spd. Complete but moldy inside a caved in garage alongside a back road. After talking to the neighbors i found out he sold the house and he needed to get his stuff out. I called him and he had a few nasty words for me and I got a call a few minutes later from a local police man. He told me the guy was a little nuts and to just stay away from his property. As I drove by the garage about two weeks later I saw a big metal dumpster outside of the garage and a young guy cleaning out the garage. He informed me the guy came, took the charger but he left everything else including a Chevrolet chevelle convertable. I came to find out he was an x drag racer and the garages were full of parts and tools. That found there way into a metal dumpster. He told me if I was there a few days earlier I could have taken everything as the new owner wanted it gone. I almost cried seeing a stack of old magnesium race wheels cut in half to remove the old slicks. Fortunately they were only about half way done cleaning out the 4 bay garage and was able to snag quite a few gems including old bomber seats. The chevelle however as well as several vintage motorbikes were recycled into daewoo's.

Currently trying to rescue a '52 Jeep M38... and also pondering on how to save this one:

Which is especially suited to my preferences. That was a neat find.

Also, I remember the photo of that DeLorean (unless there's another one at an abandoned house).

WHO WOULD DO THAT?

Also, I should add that the Beetle is a '58 standard model ragtop. Very odd combo, most ragtops were deluxe models.

I'd love to get an old Westy. Don't even care what vintage, I love them all.

Find yourself a cherry picker so you can get the rear end up then you can pull it slowly out with a winch.

The issue is, then the front falls down into the pit.

I was thinking of just getting 8 friends together and picking it up.

Try getting the front up a bit more over the ground than the ledge.

Bah, I need to come to Ontario and help you

I like the exterior of the 60s and 70s but more leaning towards an early 80s due to price, interior layout as well as the most cheaply priced.

I have a diesel westy vanagon. I love the interior layout and not much beats the suspension of the vanagon, but it's butt ugly and barely moves.

Hey yeah you, fat ass. Not interested.

Not bad at all, I'm sure it would run with an hour of work, some fluids and a couple batteries.

I'm planning a cross country road trip with my wife and two kids. A diesel westy seems the way to go.

I have a customer who has a Vanagon Westy with a TDI swapped into it... works BEAUTIFULLY. They even tow a camping trailer behind it.

Subaru engines work really nicely in them, too.

Found a photo of the Jeep.

When the shed collapsed on it, all of the damaging type stuff missed the Jeep. Phew.

Someone on another forum transplanted a Chrysler LHS engine into a Vanagon.

Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing.
