Someone on another forum transplanted a Chrysler LHS engine into a Vanagon.

Yeah, he posted the whole process on Allpar; it works out pretty well.

I'm not sure how I feel about that. If I took the time and effort that goofy Chrysler v6 would be way down on my list of engine donors. Maybe he had a wrecked Chrysler lhs, and a van that needed an engine and way too much free time.

Why in the hell? That's a crazy amount of work to squeeze in an LHS motor... I'd think there has to be at least 50 better choices for a donor.

He's a Chrysler MasterTech by living...he put in a motor he knows and also wanted something easy to add cruise control and AC with.

I'm sure Bandi wants to put in a VW Diesel in a Jeep Wrangler if he had the chance

they had good radios in them though. I'd pull the factory infinity cd players at the local yard for $16, post a picture of them installed in my Spirit, and they'd sell on ebay for $80-120. Fucking nuts. That's how I maintained unemployment for 4 months of 2009

And the leather drivers seat was fucking swagger comfy.

That said,

They should outlaw longitudinally mounted FWD engines.
