Well done sir. Last time I was on this forum I remember you were pissed about the cruze replacing the Cobalt. Personally, the Cruze has warmed on me a lot, I like the ass end. A lot.

my mom bought a Cruze Eco in July 2011 (1.4L Turbo/6speed manumantic) and i really liked it. The interior is a little cramped for someone my size (6ft 300lbs- incentive to lose tonnage. lol) but I adjusted to it. The Cobalt was getting old and was starting to need parts, plus the payment side of things was going nowhere, so i finangled a deal for the Cruze. It's not exactly what I wanted, but close enough where I can do something with it. It's a leftover 2012 Cruze 1LT- 1.4L Turbo/6speed manual.

yeah, i know, it's not a BMW E-whatever, but its red, its mine:

Oh, and in your absence I've bought and sold about a million cars but the one I'm excited about is my '52 Bug. It was the fourth Beetle ever imported by Volkswagen Canada, it's remarkably solid too. A friend of mine saved it from a scrap yard in 1967 and it's been sitting ever since.

Right now I'm just collecting parts, but I've found almost everything including the proper 25 hp engine.

Awesome Zwitter is awesome. There is a Kelly Green one now being shown around Eastern Canada, restored except for the engine. It's being claimed as one off that first shipment I believe. Can post a photo of the article in the local free paper if you like. (Victoria News Group)

There's about 6 to 8 Splits in B.C. I know of. Two I owned, the Zwitter sold in the 70's, and the '51 11G Sunroof sold a year ago. I think it had a photo at the Great Canadian VW meet show up in VW Trends or another mag. He did it up rat look, no other choice to get it drivable so quick. Good guy, did a good job, glad it went to the right buyer. Someday I'll own one again...

Yep, that's Brian Waz's zwitter... It's running now! I've been in constant contact with him since the resto began.

I can't believe the number of decent splits and ovals you guys have in BC. DAMN ROAD SALT!

A great project, as is yours. Being on the original restorable pan will always add value. I've seen photos of a split restored that had rust way up into the panels. What shape is your pan in?

There's a fair amount of splits in Washington, Oregon and Cali. Army guys would bring them back before there were any dealers. I used to go to the meets in Washington in the late 70's. There were about 7 splits at one event, all half restored.
