A great project, as is yours. Being on the original restorable pan will always add value. I've seen photos of a split restored that had rust way up into the panels. What shape is your pan in?

There's a fair amount of splits in Washington, Oregon and Cali. Army guys would bring them back before there were any dealers. I used to go to the meets in Washington in the late 70's. There were about 7 splits at one event, all half restored.




The pan is immaculate- when we dragged the car out of the woods, it left a trail of brown chunks I assumed were floorpan. It was actually tar undercoating that had flaked off, and the pan still has shiny black paint on it.

I think the last time I saw a split at a car show was in the mid 90s, and it was a VW Canada owned car.

Not including the terrible fake split '66 that was at one of the shows last summer.
