The VR6 is borderline supercar sexy when it comes to the sound it makes.

So here's an immense amount of wheelspin off the line and accelerating to 108 due to wrong size wheels =P

I was looking into the entire Magnaflow system for my Cruze... oddly enough.

GM 3.1L MPFI V6 (not the silly SFI engine) at the redline... now that's an angry sounding engine.

Something about an 4.0 with a throaty exhaust at full tilt tickles my pickle. But I'm so far into the jeep world my asshole has a low range.

That car sounds sooooo good. I gave the throttle a little blip the last time I brought it into the shop, and people came out from the showroom to see what was in there.

I guess this is one of the reasons I want to put one in a '98-'05 Beetle. I mean, they're PRETTY quick, but that sound, ohhh that sound...

I know, We went bombing down some backroads this weekend - Redline is HEAVEN. Changing gears at even like 5000revs sounds like an ALMS Car.
And now that the exhaust has been hot, its staring to get that nice bright coloured heat treated tinge.

Did the 'new'(98-05) Beetles ever come with anything better than 4Cycl?

I really want to put a 16v Head/intake in my Jetta - But then i remember i need to save my money for my looming insurance bill. And my list of want mods grows longer.

Yeah! 3.2 liter AWD 6 speed.

(In europe.)

Although here, they did sell a 1.8T version that worked well. And '06 up had the 2.5 5 cylinder, which is half of a lambo V10. I want one of those to strip, gut out, straight pipe, chip and THRASH.

I thought the 2.5 was a vr6 minus a cylinder. Though I had read the lambo remarks, I was unsure. Given the ownership it's of course very possible.

The 3.6l VR6 engine is pushing almost 300hp without FI. I can't imagine a turbo on one of those monsters.

The butt dyno lies in a vr6 and the whole driving experience is just better than the Turbo 4s VW used in the later GTIs in my opinion.

It's not only possible, it's a fact.

The 2.5 is an inline 5, where the VR6 is a narrow angle V6, so it'd be a VR5 if it was just a VR6 with a cylinder lopped off.

if I recall, the VR6 was a 15-degree V and originally designed as a diesel.

To be fair, The r was dropped from most models that still run it, with the exemption of the models in R trim. Although, my research had suggested it to be a specifically designed engine and not simply a piece of a different engine. Isn't Audi responsible for it?

My buddy swapped a 3.6 into his mk3 jetta with a Porsche intake manifold and a pretty much straight exhaust, damn that thing sounded insane.

My straight pipe 2.7TT sounded insane too, I really miss that car.

I did muffler deletes on my 4.2 and it really is how the car should have came stock from the factory. OEM exhaust makes no sense.
