and "Run Like Hell".

Kittie does a badass version of Run Like Hell. i dont usually like Pink Floyd covers cause nothing can touch the original, but its definately a kick ass cover. as for Floyd songs...id go with Welcome to the Machine as my favorite i think.

Yeah, Animals is really quite apropos at the moment also.

Basically, Pink Floyd is one of those bands who has never written a song I won't listen to. Actually, now that I think about it, they are the only band of who that's true.

Haha, that dogs song is great, my friend was in his car when all the dogs on that cd started barking and his dog started barking really loud too. I just picked up The Final Cut and its pretty good.

I was wondering, how many folks on here have albums other than The Wall or Dark Side of the Moon? I got thinking about it today as I picked up Atom Heart Mother (which just about completes my collection of Floyd albums)... most folks know of those two albums, but Floyd produced several albums like Animals or Meddle which have long intros and outtros, with just a few songs in the middle. And actually I've found I like the stuff off these albums best. How many folks have those "other" albums?

I hate hate hated Pink Floyd for the longest time. I forget why. I think it was because when I was about 15 i'd skip school with my friends to hang out at these three guys apartment and smoke pot (ah yes, and i wonder why i did so badly in school) and they would always, always have The Wall playing. Always. They were big fans, the apartment was all pink floyd posters and stuff. So after that whenever i heard Pink Floyd i'd be like "enough already" and change the station.

That, and I read an interview with roger waters once where he was being a total cock and i didn't like his attitude.

But then again what musician isn't a total cock. I suppose my hatred for Pink Floyd was pretty superficial, because I actually did enjoy a lot of their music.

Eh, when Floyd was headed by Barrett it was sort of just another 60s psychadelic band. I think Waters' lyrics and influence really moved them to another level, even if his head did get big later on down the road.

That, and I read an interview with roger waters once where he was being a total cock and i didn't like his attitude.

You sure that wasn't David Gilmoure? He's the one who does all the bitching and moaning.

Anyways, I think their best work was done before the release of Dark Side of the Moon. Before DSOM, they really didn't conform to any guidelines when they wrote music. Post DSOM, everything got more ridgid and structured.

I'm not saying that there's no good post DSOM music. Animals was excellent, and so was The Wall.

Now that Pink Floyd split up, and David Gilmoure got the rights to it, Roger Waters tours solo with Beck, and writes good songs.

Sometimes, you need to march right in and demand your rights, even if you don't know what your rights are, or who it is you're talking to. Then, on your way out, slam the door.

No not every musician is a total cock. Waters has a ego bigger then his nose, hes just pissed because he left and they continued to play music with out him.

If you liked the wall get some other albums.
