I found this a few weeks ago sitting outside a mechanics shop. Apparently the guy is storing it there for his friend. The guys dad hand built it in California years ago. His dad gave it to him and he spent $3k getting it shipped to NY where it has sat since. A complete one off vehicle from what I was told, I have certainly never seen anything like it. It's a 79 I believe. Apparently the rear part over the bed can motorize up and even be removed completely. Figured you guys might like this one.

Behold! Some pics from the Lakewood (OH) Car Kulture show. It's not just a car show, it's a culture show. They had vendors, bands, hot chicks in retro outfits, and my scout troop selling 840 hot dogs. There were 120 cars entered this year.

This is a 1918 Harley:

My wife was with me, so no hot chix pix. One of the bars down the street had their waitresses in sexy little dirndl outfits. You never saw so many teenage boys' heads turn and jaws drop as when one of them walked by.

These have been sitting for a while now. And yes, those are Audi rims on the Rabbit - someone swapped the steering wheel for one off of a GTI.

Isuzu Hombre! The pickup that literally no one cares about because there is zero reason to!

Pretty rare brand in the US - when they do show up here, they tend to be badge-engineered.

The Isuzu Hombre... lol... the last of the badge engineered Isuzu's in America. At least it didn't rot in a gentle rainstorm.

Found a few items of interest on a visit to Maryland:

The 944 had the emblems removed from the rear and "944" spelled out in mailbox decals, which was a nice touch.

And a Toronado from a parking garage back home!

The 944 and the Corrado make me sad.

I did some work on a 944 a couple weekends ago, I forgot what a fun little car they were.

The late 924s had the same engine as the 944 and they weighed less, so they were actually a bit quicker, but I'd personally take style over performance in that case. They just always looked like they were missing something.

The early ones were such a turd. About as rev happy as a can opener. A former boss had around a 1981ish 924 Turbo. It couldn't touch my Tercel... when my Tercel was stock. (Top speed would have been a different story, I'm sure.)
