I put in work, but it sucks

| | | I know that what I want from a female is to be appreciated for all I do. I don't mean material things necessarily, but when I go out of my way to do things for someone because I love them, I appreciate grateful responses. In my relationship now, I want mostly for her to talk to me. I know this isn't the typical male response to this kind of thing, but I like to know what is really going on in someone's head, how they feel about certain situations, and most of all how they feel about me. Also I think that I should get an even return on my relationship, getting while I give, because God knows I've given enough of my life and love to the girl I'm with right now.

| | | Of course different guys want different things, but beyond the normal things everyone wants from everyone (e.g. open, honest, caring, funny, attractive) I think in general men want two seemingly self-exclusive things from women. First, they want a woman to look and act female. By this I mean think of any characteristic that makes a woman look/act different than a male. On a platonic level this could be boobs, female clothes (like a skirt or dress), long hair, makeup. On another level this could be crossing their legs like a woman, they way they walk, they way they gesture, acting submissive. But, at the same time, men want women to be men. They want the woman to act and be like a man but still retain the characteristics of a female (the above paragraph). For example, an attractive woman (boobs, long hair, wearing a dress) but doing something male, (using power tools, riding a motorcycle, staying up all night playing counter-strike, urban exploring ). Men will generally find this highly attractive. This also extends to how a man wants the woman to be in a relationship. He wants her to be submissive-yet-aggressive; be as quick as him to get dressed up to go out somewhere, but still look feminine. Of course my theory is a huge generalization and should be taken as such: not true in specific cases, but probably some-what true in some latent sense.

| | | I don't know about other men, but for me, I want a woman who is intelligent, sweet, caring, loveable, strong willed, and loves affection. Someone who knows what she wants and isn't afraid of getting it. A woman who is her own person, who can think for herself and make her own decisions. I desire a lady who will be my closest friend, companion and lover. Someone who enjoys spending time together and learning about one another. A lady who enjoys laughing and doesn't mind being silly with me, who can hold an intelligent conversation and will surprise me at any moment with a kiss that makes my head spin. I want a woman who will support my decisions but tell me if I am making bad ones. An equal is all I desire, someone who is the opposite of myself and my other half.
